De Zyxel WX5600 is sneller dan zijn voorganger. Hij is voorzien van twee 2,5Gbit-lanpoorten. Hij heeft meer antenness op 5Ghz: met 4×4 ten opzichte van 2×2 is het zelfs twee keer zoveel. De maximale snelheid is daar 4.800Mbit/s, wat een gigantische vooruitgang is: bij WAP6807 is het 1.733Mbit/s. Daarnaast ondersteunt het apparaat nu ook WPA3-SAE en is hij met 18W vrij zuinig.
